Perfumes is one of those things that will lift my mood in no time. Today, I went to the local Douglas shop with absolutely no intention to purchase anything. I recently added two Visa Pure brushes on my Wunderlist shopping list, but didn’t feel it was the moment to re-purchase the replacements. And while I looking around, I noticed that Thierry Mugler had recently launched a new fragrance and I jumped instantly to sniff it.

This olfactory concoction made me speechless. At first, I felt like a cocoa-nutty flavor that reminded me of cappuccino. Then I felt like the smell subtly started to have a hint of linden. I’m not sure why I’m getting this note because it’s not listed on the Thierry Mugler website, nor on Fragrantica. I was totally mesmerized by the notes of Angel Muse and I’ve decided on the spot that I have to have it. I usually don’t buy perfumes on the ‘first sniff’, but I couldn’t resist not smelling it again…and again.
Notes
I’m one of those that have fallen for the Muse version of the famous Angel perfume. Like the original version, it has Patchouli, but it is not overpowering like the original perfume. After I left the shop, I continued to sniff my wrist and noticed that the perfume transformed into a sweeter version. It immediately made me think of Alien Essence Absolue (one of my all-time favorite perfumes). It’s a toned down version of it, and, unlike Essence Absolue, I feel like it can be worn on warmer days without a problem.

I’m not into sweet perfumes anymore, I used to be ‘craving’ for girlish fragrances, but I now prefer spicier notes. This perfume perfectly blends my perfume history: it’s got a vanilla hint, which is probably the whipped cream note, and it also has a peppery note combined with a nutty (hazelnut) hint.
Sillage
Mugler fragrances always get very good grades for sillage. Alien Muse has got a very good silage, by the time I’m writing this article, it’s been more than 6 hours since I’ve applied it in the shop and it’s still going strong.
The perfume still has to get through the test of time, but I’m sure it will do just fine.
Have you tried it yet?
